Four weeks · July–August
The full summer stretch — four weeks through the atolls, anchoring off uninhabited islands, with long off-grid days and rich marine life.

Sailing the Maldivian atolls
Sail and anchor off uninhabited islands aboard a brand-new Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 490. Eight of you, two crew, and a way of travelling where everyone pitches in — cooking, sailing, the lot.
How we travel
A fifty-foot boat, two crew, up to eight people across four cabins. We move when the wind's good, anchor where the reef is good, share the galley, and figure out dinner together. Some days we cover sixty nautical miles between atolls. Some days we don't lift the anchor — there's a manta under the boat or the swell isn't worth it.
A new Sun Odyssey 490: three twin cabins and a bunk cabin. Small, social, never crowded.
Shopping, cooking, cleaning, sailing, maintenance — shared between everyone. That's the point, not the catch.
Book a single berth and meet your crew, or take a private cabin for two. Solo travellers are the norm here.
Choose your voyage
Each departure threads a different run of atolls and uninhabited anchorages. Same crew, same boat — a different month at sea.
The full summer stretch — four weeks through the atolls, anchoring off uninhabited islands, with long off-grid days and rich marine life.
A shorter fortnight for those who can only get away for two weeks — the gentlest introduction to life aboard.
Late-season four weeks before the Tropical season sets in — quiet anchorages and warm water.
Life aboard
Choose a two- or four-week departure. Each one threads a different set of atolls and uninhabited anchorages.
Take a single berth or a private twin cabin. Pay for the berth — food, fuel, and harbour costs run on a shared kitty.
Route, provisioning plan, and a kit list land in your inbox. You sort flights to Malé.
Meet the crew at the marina, stow your bag, and we slip the lines. By teatime you're anchored somewhere with no address.

“A guitar that someone usually plays. Time, and nowhere in particular to be.”

“Exciting and full of once-in-a-lifetime experiences. More than a holiday — an authentic ocean adventure in the beautiful Maldives.”
Leonora“Our time on Infinitea with Joris and Olivia was pure magic — fishing, wakeboarding and snorkelling in the clearest water, surrounded by rays, turtles and sharks.”
Beate“An authentic Maldives sailing experience hosted by Joris and Olivia. We caught our own dinner and cooked it on the beach at sunset. Really special.”

None. Your two crew — Joris (Captain) and Olivia (First Officer) — handle the boat and teach as much as you want to learn. Many people arrive having never sailed and leave standing watches. A couple of voyages marked 'Some sailing' have longer open-water passages, but all levels are welcome.
On a cabin expedition everyone shares the running of the boat: the provisioning shop in Malé, cooking on a rota, washing-up, helming and sail handling. It's self-catering and shared by design — that hands-on rhythm is the whole point. If you'd rather be waited on by a private chef, our sister charter is the better fit.
A berth is a single bed in a shared cabin — the most social and affordable way to come, and how most solo travellers book. A private cabin gives two of you a double to yourselves. Infinitea has three double cabins and one bunk cabin: eight guest berths in total, plus the two crew.
Your berth aboard for the whole voyage, plus the crew. Food, fuel, drinking water, and Maldives cruising and green-tax fees run on a shared kitty everyone contributes to — we publish a typical figure before you book. Flights to Malé are not included.
Yes — Infinitea has Starlink, so you can stay in touch, check messages, and do light remote work between atolls. It's not built for several people streaming HD at once, but you're never truly cut off.
Two weeks or four. Four-week voyages reach the remote southern or northern atolls with long off-grid stretches; two-week loops stay closer to the central atolls and are the gentlest introduction to life aboard.
Mostly solo travellers and pairs in their twenties and thirties, with a strong Scandinavian — especially Danish — crowd; the crew speak English, Danish and Dutch. Minimum age is 12, given the offshore nature of the trip.
Fly into Velana International Airport (MLE) in Malé, then a short 15–20 minute speedboat transfer to the marina. We'll help you line up the transfer once your dates are set.
The inner atolls are protected by surrounding reefs, so the water is often remarkably calm. Crossings between atolls can be breezy, and we plan to anchor in sheltered lagoons each night. Bring your preferred medication if you're prone to motion sickness.
Yes. All guests must hold personal accident and travel insurance that covers offshore sailing up to 60 nautical miles from the coast. We'll remind you of this in your booking confirmation.
A deposit secures your spot, with the balance due closer to departure — we confirm the exact terms in writing when you inquire. Because dates are limited and hard to fill at short notice, we strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance in case your plans change.
For a private, fully-catered week with the boat to your own group, that's our sister operation, Maldives Sailing (maldivessailing.com). Teatime Adventures is the shared-cabin, longer-voyage side; the two share one calendar so dates never clash.
The boat
Infinitea is a Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 490, launched in 2025 and kitted for off-grid life between the atolls: a watermaker, 2,000W of solar, a big inverter, and Starlink for the people you miss. Three double cabins and a bunk cabin sleep eight guests, with Joris and Olivia living aboard as crew. Want the whole boat to yourselves for a polished week instead? That's our sister operation — maldivessailing.com.
The crew onboard
Infinitea is operated by two crew members. Together they speak fluent English, Danish, and Dutch. Below, in their own words.

Hey guys and gals! My name is Joris! I am a 28-year-old Dutchy, with a degree in mechanical engineering. Before coming to the Maldives, I was living in Copenhagen finishing my master’s degree in materials and manufacturing, sailing on my Granada 767 in my spare time. I have sailed most of my life with my family, but about four years ago, I sailed in Greenland and decided to make sailing not just a hobby, but a lifestyle. Since then, I have worked with fixing, restoring and cleaning large boats, as well as obtaining an official 100-ton Yachtmaster captain’s license. I also have gained over 8,000 nautical miles of sailing experience since starting my sailing journey.
My job onboard is not only to safely navigate future guests through the reef-filled Maldivian waters, but also to create a fun environment for everyone joining us. With the help of my first officer, we will plan an adventurous route according to weather conditions and the number of days guests are onboard. I am also very good with my hands, so rest assured, if anything breaks, I will be able to get it fixed in no time.
I am very excited to share the beautiful Maldives, with all of you. Hoi hoi!
Hello everyone! My name is Olivia, and I’m 25 years old. I am a Dane, raised in England, who doesn’t come from a sailing family but discovered a passion for it later in life.
In 2023, I was solo travelling and ended up on a boat in French Polynesia with nine other Danes. It was a big turning point, as I discovered a true love for sailing and the joy of experiencing all the different cultures you encounter on the journey. Then I went home, started studying midwifery, bought a boat with four girlfriends, which we restored and sailed in our free time, but I still had a longing to fill my days with sailing. So, I decided to quit school, go on a big adventure and make sailing my first priority. Since then, I have obtained a 30-ton Yachtmaster captain’s license and over 4,000 nautical miles of sailing experience.
As first officer, I have different tasks onboard. Some of my tasks include assisting with sailing, docking the boat, helping with route planning and making sure the boat is ship-shape. Besides that, I am a quick learner and never shy away from a good challenge. I will also be available to guests at anytime, even if it’s just for a snorkelling trip or board game.
I promise to try and make everyone’s experience as, what we say in Danish, “hyggelig”, as possible and I can’t wait to meet everyone of you!
